Video: Massive Air France A380 jet collides with smaller plane at JFK Airport

It happened at world’s largest airport and involved world’s largest jumbo jet. An amateur video caught the moment of impact between an Air France Airbus A380 jumbo jet and a smaller regional plane at New York’s JFK Airport Monday (April 11) night. The amateur footage shows the smaller “Comair 553-Delta” airplane taxied and the Air France jet passing behind it.

Because the safety distance between the two planes was not enough the A380-800 giant just clipped the tail of the little plane and easily twisted it about 45 degrees like nothing was in its path. An investigation of the incident was opened and both airplanes are inspected for damages.

During the incident the Air France airliner, carrying 495 people and 25 crew members on board, was preparing for a flight to Paris, while the Comair regional plane, had just landed and was ready to disembark its 62 passengers and four crew members.
