Known for his volcanic behavior since he was a player, Swindon Town manager Paolo di Canio provided another bad example, but this time from a coaching position.
Nervous that his team, Swindon Town, was eliminated from England League Cup after losing 1-3 to Southampton, di Canio applied a physical correction to striker Leon Clarke in the tunnel leading to the lockers. It is not known yet what determined Di Canio conclude that forward Leon Clarke is the culprit.
Italian’s gesture is not really that surprising. Paolo Di Canio remains in fans’ memory not only for his player career, but also for his rampages on the pitch and the fascist salute addressed to Lazio Roma’s fans.
The 43-year-old Di Canio retired in 2008 after he played with Lazio Roma , Ternana, Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan, Celtic Glasgow, Sheffield Wednesday, West Ham United, Charlton Athletic and Cisco Roma.
Under Di Canio’s lead, Swindon Town recorded a win and four defeats in the present season of the fourth English League.
