Fisherman Carlos Rafael of Massachusetts succeeded in setting a fishing record after catching a magnificent 400 kg (881 pounds) tuna. However Mr. Rafael was unfortunate enough to keep it because the giant fish was seized by the federal authorities (scroll down for linking to video).

According to yahoo.com the man and his team were employing nets to fish bottom-dwellers when unexpectedly the tuna got trapped and was pulled in.

When their boat came back to the harbout, the feds took over the “pray”. Rafael and his crew had a permit but instead they did not have the proper fishing tools (rod and reel), therefore no tuna meal.

As yahoo.com writes in a funny way, the fishemen did not need a big vessel but just a permit.

However the authorities seizure made Carlos Rafael and his pals end up in frustration as an almost similar tuna weighing 754-pounds (342 kilogrammes) was previously sold for 396,000 bucks.

“I wanted to sell the fish while it was fresh instead of letting it age on the boat,” he said. “It was a beautiful fish,” said Rafael in an interview.
