Romanian actor Ion Lucian died Saturday night (31.March.2012) at 21.15 at Floreasca Hospital in Bucharest. Lucian would have turned 88 on April 22.

Ion Lucian was hospitalized earlier this month at Floreasca Emergency Hospital being suspected of having bronchopneumonia and anemia. Ion Lucian refused 98 times to leave the country.

Ion Lucian, a director and founder of Excelsior Theatre, was born on April 22, 1924, in Bucharest and graduated Bucharest’s Royal Academy of theater and music in 1945. At 18 he played on the stage of the National Theatre, then, from 1945 to 1947, worked for the Alhambra Theatre of Operetta.
Bucharest Municipal Theatre (now Theatre Bulandra) employed Mr. Lucian between 1947-1952 and from 1956 to 1960. He climbed the stage of Nottara in 1952, to join later the Comedy Theatre (1960-1964, 1972-1990).

Founder and director (1964 – 1972) of Children’s Theatre “Ion Creanga” and Excelsior Theatre Bucharest (1990), Ion Lucian was a professor of the Theatre and Film Institute (1952-1956), and between 1998 and 2000 he taught at Hyperion University in the Romanian capital.

Ion Lucian participated on May 4, 2011 at the inauguration of the new headquarter of Excelsior Theatre, one of the rooms bearing the name of the actor who made real efforts into the opening of this cultural institution. Source: realitatea.net

36-year-old Nadya Suleman who gave birth (so far) to 14 children and probably mostly known for becoming an octomom in 2009, decided to bare herself and reveal her unclothed figure in a hot pictorial for British magazine “Closer”.

The photographs taken on February 25, 2012, show Nadya Suleman in various states of undress as she stripped down to a pair of panties but the pants were never removed.

Previously the octomom vowed that she will never picture undressed, however she changed her mind after being constrained to gather money for home rental payment. Following her appearance, she earned a 10,000 bucks paycheck. Nadya receives also $2000 monthly from the government as financial support for her kids but clearly that amount is not enough to raise such a large family.

In an interview for Closer, Nadya Suleman bragged about her body shape, diet and her personal life: “I just pinged back into shape like a rubber band after the kids, I don’t know how I managed that”. “I am keen on eating like a horse, don’t count calories and have never owned a set of scales. I gained an entire human during pregnancy with the octuplets … however, 2 months afterwards, I dropped back to size 8. Now I never check my weight”.

“I’m an extraordinary mother,” she added. “I’m so carrying, and my children are very happy. There’s never been a moment I have regretted having so many.”

To mention that Suleman had a big opportunity to make money with her skin when giant Vivid Entertainment offered her a $1,000,000 deal in 2009, but she rejected the contract.

A new book sparks anger among the British as it allegedly provides shocking revelations. Thus, it is said that the Queen Mother would have actually been the daughter of royal family’s cookmaid who was not even British, but French.

Book’s author, Lady Colin Campbell, argues that both the Queen Mother (who gave birth to Queen Elizabeth II) Elizabeth Bowes Lyon and her younger brother, David, were given birth by the Royal’s French cook, used as a surrogate mother because Cecilia- the real mother- could not have children anymore, after she had already had 8.

Lady Colin uses as arguments the name Marguerite, the French name given to the Queen Mother as well as her nickname, “Cookie” which can mean both “cake” and a diminutive of the cook in English. The scandalous revelations which are not trustful since there is no evidence, come at a bad time as Queen Elizabeth II has just held a ceremony on Friday to mark 10 years since the loss of her mother, Queen Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon. The book is called “The Queen Mother: the untold story of Elizabeth Bowes Lyon” and will be released on the market next month.

World breaking $640 million lottery jackpot claimed by 3 tickets after drawing on 30 March 2012

The $640 million world-breaking lottery jackpot was finally claimed. Three winning tickets sold in Maryland, Kansas and Illinois share the big prize. So far, no one knows the name of the tickets holders.

Kansas Lottery revealed that one of the winning tickets was bought in the northern part of the state. Illinois ticket was purchased in Red Bud, near St. Louis and Maryland’s ticket was picked at a retail shop in Baltimore County.

The unprecedented mega-millions jackpot will be split equally by 3 thus each ticket being $213 million worth before taxes.

The following numbers extracted during Friday night’s drawing were: 02, 04, 23, 38, 46, and the Mega Ball 23.

Opel to test LED light matrix technology

Roads at night are tiring. Not only because of lack of sun, but also the lights of the vehicles running in opposite direction,,,especially when some drivers forget to swap from main beam to dipped beam.

Well, Opel is trying to bring an end to all these inconveniences by introducing a new technology called LED matrix light. Unlike halogen or xenon headlights, the LED lighting matrix technology features serious advantages. When a car comes in front, or if you are overtaken, the matrix-based headlights diminish their brightness in the meeting area, while maintaining a good visibility on the road. This is possible due to videocamera equipped with a sensor integrated somewhere to front of the vehicle. The headlights are made ​​up of four segments, each segment comprises in turn four light sources capable of turning on or off individually.

Thus there is possible to obtain 256 lighting combinations, which are fluently adjustable without disturbing the driver. Pretty ingenious!!! Opel is thus the first carmaker to implement the matrix light in their prototype vehicle. They are still testing the lights, but would like to introduce the matrix technology on models to be released in the upcoming years. Volleyballer Samantha Wopat tragically dies in mysterious circumstances

Mystery surrounds the death of Samantha Wopat. She was 19.

People at Stanford were left in shock and sorrow after officials revealed last Monday the death of 19-year-old sophomore Samantha Wopat.

Wopat who was one of the best volleyball players across U.S. was rushed to the hospital on 17 March due to a “medical emergency”. She passed away in the intensive care unit of Stanford Hospital on Sunday 25 March 2012. It still not known what caused her death.

An official statement says:
“On behalf of all of us at USA Volleyball, we are terribly saddened by the tragic and sudden death of Samantha Wopat. Samantha played on the 2009 U.S. Girls’ Youth National Volleyball Team at the FIVB World Championship and the 2010 U.S. Women’s Junior National Team at the NORCECA Continental Championship. Samantha was a brilliant and excellent participant in the USA Volleyball Indoor High Performance Program with an apparently unlimited and bright future. It is hard to imagine the sense of loss to the family, and we offer our thoughts and prayers to them and our most sincere condolences.” – Doug Beal, Chief Executive Officer of USA Volleyball.”

Samantha Wopat was a 3-time junior Olympic competitor and joined Stanford’s volleyball team in 2010 with her twin sister, Carly. Sam’s death is now widely debated on social websites.

Maserati Quattroporte is a lovely sport car and many folks do not really want this vehicle be replaced. However, somewhere in Germany, a team of engineers is working hard on the release of a new generation. “We are not decided yet on the design and which elements of this concept will be featured by the series model, but as far as you can see, the sixth generation Quattroporte will have an extended roof, even if not that dramatically as surrogate model used for tests suggests”.

Paparazzi managed to capture some spy photos of the 2013 Maserati Quattroporte performing tests on the famous racetrack at Nuerburgring, Germany.

The new Quattroporte will use a modified Ferrari-based V8 engine and is rumored to be officially presented for the first time either at the 2012 Paris AutoShow or later at Detroit Auto Show in January 2013.

Temporary love for Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana as the two stars have separated after a 3-month romance. The pair met on the set of “Words”.

“Definitely they are no longer together. She and Bradley did not appear to be very serious with their relationship,” said a source.

However, the “Avatar” star was seen in the company of actor’s mother, Gloria, fact which gave the impression that things were heading into the right direction. But it wasn’t meant to be. Bradley broke up with Renee Zellweger last year, and subsequently had a series of relationships with Jennifer Lopez and Olivia Wilde.

NASA deployed 5 suborbital rockets on Tuesday morning in research of Earth's upper level jet stream for ATREX program

NASA launched five small dimension rockets early Tuesday in order to measure the wind forces at an altitude of 100 kilometers, well above the area where commercial airplanes fly.

All five rockets blasted-off successfully from an airbase in the U.S. state of Virginia. Anomalous Transport Rocket Experiment (ATREX) will diffuse in the upper atmosphere a chemical tracer (trimethyl aluminum) that will expand for about 20 minutes as a bundle of colored rays, allowing observers on Earth to explore the high-altitude jet streams at the edge of space.

“In that region, the winds are much stronger than we thought”, said Miguel Larsen, a scientist involved the project. At that altitude, wind speed spans between 320 km/h and 480 km/hour and can provide essential information about electromagnetic radiation regions that have the ability to damage satellites and interrupt communication systems.

“We do not know yet what we will find, but certainly there is something unusual occuring. ATREX will help us answer some important questions and to identify the effect generated by these winds,” added Miguel Larsen.
