The former supermodel “often cries” and shows off “nervous outbreaks” as the political race to occupy the Elysee Palace reaches its final stage.
“Her pleasant character featured in 2009 has now disappeared. Currently, Carla’s sleep is visibly affected, fact which constrains her to take better care of herself and neglect somehow daughter Giulia whom she wanted to breastfeed until the age of eight months,” according to Monday’s edition of French magazine Closer.
“Carla Bruni passes through the worst moments since she became France’s First Lady, and the reason is not only the uncertainty of what might happen (in the second round of presidential elections) on May 6, but also the unbearable violence of the presidential campaign”, notes the French publication.
According to Closer, Bruni’s friends revealed her “fragile and nervous” condition, just shortly before Sunday elections, in which Nicolas Sarkozy is presented by polls as loser. “The violent verbal attacks that her husband is subjected to, seem to be a real psychological shock for the First Lady.
Because of not being totally used to the political world, Carla just found herself as the target of an unprecedented brutality” the magazine writes, and “reacts as she is “peeled off” alive, being devastated by the slightest insult or critique against her husband.” Also Sarkozy Bruni’s family expressed concerns about her mental state.
