Swimmer Rebecca Soni won the 200-meter breaststroke swimming race thus prolonging her Olympic dominance (scroll down for video).

Stunning performance: double breaking of world record:
In the semi-final the U.S. swimmer had broken the world record with a 2.20,00 but she outpaced herself by winning the final with a new record: 2.19,59.

The Japanese Satomi Suzuki, who took bronze in the 100 meter breaststroke, swam to silver in 2.20,72. The bronze went to Russian Joelija Jefimova with 2.20,92.

Soni, who grabbed one of her three gold medals in the 200 m breaststroke at the 2011 World Championships, had earlier earned in London the silver in the 100 meter breaststroke.

On that distance (100m) Soni had to accept the superiority of the young Lithuanian Ruta Meilutyte, who did not participate in the 200m race.
