Pădureanu fell victim to a violent aggression which occurred in the district Panduri. The head of Gloria Bistrita group was beaten and robbed right at the corner of the building where he lives when he usually comes to Bucharest.
Apparently a young man attacked him and snatched his bag after hitting him, therefore Mr. Padureanu known also as Tata Jean, needed medical attention.
“While climbing the stairs I lost my balance and felt that someone gave me a push. I fell and hit my hands and head. A man was about to steal my bag. Seeing that he could not get it, he snatched instead the purse, which I dropped. I had no money inside, only the passport, some documents and club’s official stamp. Therefore I beg him to give them back to me, eventually to throw them in front of the house. I will honor him if he does so,” said Jean Pădureanu during an interview to Romania TV. Meanwhile he filed a complained at the police which opened an investigation into finding the aggressor.
Jean Pădureanu is 75-year-old and since 1964 he held leading positions inside football club Gloria Bistrita. Since 1995 he is president of the group.
Gloria Bistrita is scheduled to meet Steaua Bucuresti on Sunday at 21.30 in the 13th fixture of the Romanian League 1.
