The French court gave the verdict in this case on December 17. The magistrates ruled that Irina Ionesco must pay 10,000 euros in damages for breaching the privacy and image rights of her daughter, who backed her accusations with a series of racy photographs taken in a period of her childhood when she was between 4 and 12.
The Paris court ordered Irina also to return the negatives of the photos to her daughter, but rejected the other claims made by Eva, who had asked the French judiciary to prohibit her mother from commercially exploiting those images. Eva’s initial demand of 200,000 euros was also rejected.
Eva Ionesco was born in Paris in 1965, and her photos were published in the Spanish edition of Penthouse magazine and one of shots was chosen as feature photo for the cover of German magazine Der Spiegel.
