Gerard Depardieu becomes Russian citizen as he claims passport

Bye bye France, Hello Russia!!! Well known French movie star Gerard Depardieu reportedly became a Russian citizen as he was just given country’s passport. The actor said that he loves Russia and promise to learn Russian language.

“Yes, I have applied for a passport and I am glad my request has been granted,” Depardieu wrote Russian reporters in a letter posted on the official site of Russia’s federal television Channel 1.

The Kremlin press office unveiled that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed off an act to honor Depardieu with Russian citizenship.
