“The seven-time Formula One world champion arrived at the hospital in coma with a serious head injury that required immediate surgery,” said CHU in a statement, stating that Schumacher “remains in critical condition.”

Meribel authorities unveiled initially that Schumacher suffered a serious head injury which was not life threatening. Also the mountain gendarmerie in Courcheval, which intervened after Schumacher ‘s accident, reported that the ex-F1 driver suffered a “severe brain trauma”.
