Romanian President Klaus Iohannis attended Tuesday the ceremony which saw Eduard Hellvig taking office and becoming the fifth director of the Romanian Intelligence Service, SRI, announced the intelligence service in an official statement posted on its website.

“The President [of the country] delivered a message that emphasized the important role of SRI in the fight against national security’s risks and threats, such as corruption, terrorist threats, cyber attacks, etc., especially considering the complicated international situation that we come up against”, it reads part of the statement.
