Turkish Airlines passenger plane overshoots runway in Nepal

Turkish Airlines plane bound for Kathmandu, skidded off the runway in Nepal’s capital Wednesday morning, causing minor injury to several passengers.

The incident was reportedly caused by dense fog and rain that has engulfed the area over the past two days.

The runway was slippery due to extended rain period and the fog was thick at time of landing. According to local authorities, the plane, an Airbus 330, ended up on the grass damaging its front part, the Associated Press reports.
