According to Iasi airport management board, the routes will become operational from 1 June 2017 with three flights per week to Berlin and two per week to Valencia.

“After Cologne and Munich, the effort to connect Iasi with Germany’s capital comes true. The link with Europe’s strongest economic center means more chances of development for our region, with possibility for foreign businesses to settle here. Furthermore, there have been numerous requests for opening the route to Berlin since many fellow citizens have jobs in this city. Valencia is a very popular tourist area but also a city with a large community of people from the Romanian region of Moldavia”, said Marius Bodea, the President of the Iasi International Airport Board of Directors.

He said traffic at Iasi airport could reach 1.5 million passengers in 2017, compared to 850,000 as estimated for this year.
