A US man may have entered too much in the spirit of winter holidays after decorating his car with 1,000 Christmas lights.

Every year around Christmas, Brandon Wooden, a 23-year-old train conductor from Hardeeville, South Carolina, adorns both the exterior and interior of his vehicle with countless lights. He says he puts on the display to cheer up strangers but also his son, reports The Telegraph.

“I like to see people’s reaction when they see my car. Usually they follow me for a few miles, videotape me, Snapchat, stop me and tell me to pull over on the side of the road to take a picture. I do it, it’s awesome.”

The local community has since rallied to Mr Wooden’s aid and raised $300 to pay his fine on a GoFundMe page. The page was started by Darlene Barnett, who described Mr Wooden as an “amazing young man” who “brings joy to our community”.
