The registrations kicked off at 12.00 and prior to the dive, there is a warm-up under the supervision of nice music and joyful mood. At 14.00 sharp, everyone rushed into the North Sea for a ice-cold swim that came as a perfect opportunity for those recovering from hangover.
After the plunge, the divers were welcomed back on the beach with a delicious cup of pea soup (“erwtensoep met vegetarische rookworst“) and a hot “gluhwijn”.
In addition to the brave folks that confronted the chilly temperature of the water, hundred others rallied on the shore to suport their favorites and enjoy the fun.
60,000 people went into the cold water today during the 60th edition of the New Year’s dive.
