VIDEO: DHL cargo plane breaks in half after crash landing at Juan Santamaria Airport in Costa Rica

A DHL Boeing 757-200 cargo plane broke in two after making an emergency landing at Juan Santamaria Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica on Thursday, April 7th, 2022.

After landing, the plane skidded off the runway and split in two, writes The Guardian.

Nobody was injured and only one crew member underwent a medical examination as a precaution, DHL reported.

The plane was heading for Guatemala when a hydraulic system malfunction caused the pilot to request an emergency landing shortly after takeoff, said Luis Miranda Munoz, deputy director of the Costa Rican Civil Aviation Authority.
