Google launched on Friday the latest model of laptop that will be available on the market at a price of 191 Euros (£229 / $249).
Google Chromebook is the newest model of a series launched two years ago, but it differs from traditional notebooks because it does not have either a storage memory or an OS. The information is instead stored on Google’s servers and all software operations are performed through the Internet browser Chrome.
Google offers 100 gigabytes of free online storage for each customer, with possibility of extension at cost through the web service Drive. The laptop provides also different storage options such as 16 GB flash memory and SD card reader.
Chromebooks come with an ARM processor, found also on the PC Tablets, which is considered more efficient in terms of energy consumption than Intel. Screen size is 11.6 inch, slightly bigger than 10.1-inch tablets display.
