Klaus Johannis offered today a private reception after being officially appointed as Romania’s president and becoming the newest resident at the Cotroceni Palace. The ceremony was opened by the country’s national anthem which was played by Valentin Astănculesei.
Various sources participating to the private reception revealed that the celebration was attended by about 200 people, including leaders and members of the new Liberal Party as well as collaborators of Klaus Johannis.
Valentin Astănculesei, the young man who became known after playing piano at the Amsterdam’s train station on December 1 (Romania’s national day), performed the anthem at the opening event at the Cotroceni Palace. He played also a waltz that was his own composition.
