A 14-year-old Filipino-American teenager kidnapped last July in Philippines by islamist militants managed to set himself free after tricking his captors.
Apparently Kevin Lunsmann met his mother yesterday but no further details were provided.
Teen’s father Heiko told in an interview that the boy planned by himself his run and set his plan into motions when the terrorists were sleeping.

Gerfa Yeatts Lunsmann was set free in October and Jakaria was released in November after ransom was paid for them. However the abductors did not agree to release Kevin as probably they wanted more money.
Basilan is the headquarter for Abu Sayyaf, which wishes to split minority Muslim population from Philippines. The U.S. listed the group as a terrorist organization which is tied to al Qaeda. The Philippines forces has been fighting to contain the militants.
Abu Sayyaf was accused for various terrorist plots across the Philippines, including a 2004 ferry bombing with 130 people killed, as well as many kidnappings.
Kevin’s father that his boy will reveal the exact way he escaped, but did not mention when.
