The disciplinary committee of the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB), suspended the Zaan-Turkish amateur football club VV ZTS for one year. The suspension applies to all teams, including the juniors and the decision is apparently reasoned by the fact that ZTS teams were involved in several incidents.
A spokesman for the KNVB did not say exactly why ZTS received the penalty. He only said that there was an accusation file on the name of the club.
KNVB website claims there were major problems in February during an away game of the first team of ZTS. Ten minutes before the final whistle, the referee was protected by members of the home team who helped him leave the pitch. Even so, the referee was hit in the head with an object.
According to KNVB, ZTS coach blamed the referee. The coach would have said that “in 32 years I have never seen such a bad referee”.
