100 people have been killed and more than 500 injured in Kyiv as tensions exploded on Thursday, just 12 hours after the truce announced by President Viktor Yanukovych. New clashes erupted between protesters who demand President’s resignation and police forces, the latter being pushed away from that part of the Independence Square which they took over Tuesday night. Before the noon, mass media had announced that that 35 people were dead and dozens other injured, but the number of casualties is continuously rising. Besides, 50 police officers were taken prisoners by the demonstrators. According to journalists on the spot the belligerent forces are now using war ammunition.
News media claims that protesters were shot with rifles (photo), as well as heavy ammunition that penetrated their body armor.
