  • New revealings in Kunsthal Museum Art Theft Case released by Romanian magistrates

    Seven paintings including works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet and Paul Gauguin, were stolen on the night of 15 October 2012 from Kunsthal Museum in Rotterdam (scroll down for photos).

    The stolen paintings are: “Tête d’Arlequin” by Pablo Picasso, “La Liseuse en Blanc et Jaune” by Henri Matisse, “Waterloo Bridge” and “Charing Cross Bridge” by Claude Monet, “Femme devant une fenêtre ouverte, dite la fiancée” by Paul Gauguin, “Autoportrait” by Meyer de Haan and “Woman with Eyes Closed” by Lucian Freud.

    Following a request of prosecutors from Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), Bucharest’s 5th District Court issued an arrest warrant for three Romanian citizens suspected to be the robbers who stormed Kunsthal museum.
