Wopat who was one of the best volleyball players across U.S. was rushed to the hospital on 17 March due to a “medical emergency”. She passed away in the intensive care unit of Stanford Hospital on Sunday 25 March 2012. It still not known what caused her death.

Samantha Wopat was a 3-time junior Olympic competitor and joined Stanford’s volleyball team in 2010 with her twin sister, Carly. Sam’s death is now widely debated on social websites.
