An armed robbery like those seen in action movies rocked the Swedish city of Södertälje on Friday. Right at midday, four robbers broke into a jewelry store inside a mall (scroll down for video).
Police responded to an emergency call and immediately rushed to the robbery scene, but once arriving there, criminal opened fire at officers.
“We were first told that 3 of them had gone into the jewellery store while a fourth remained in the car,” said Sven-Erik Olsson, spokesman at Stockholm County police headquarters. “Gunshots were exchanged between police and the perpetrators.”
“We know that one of the robbers has been shot,” Albin Naverberg of the Sodertalje police told the Aftonbladet newspaper.

The other three managed to escape with a car that was waiting in front of the store, but they left behind their injured accomplice. The wounded perpetrator was transported to a hospital, but doctors said he is unlikely to survive. Latest reports claim that he was shot in the head.
Fortunately Swedish police managed to capture also the rest of the thieves who fled the scene.
