    The Canadian public broadcasting group CBC was the victim of a cyber attack carried out by the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA), announced representatives of the media group.

    The English version of Radio-Canada published a screenshot of its news website which shows a small window bearing the message: “Hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army”.

    This is not the first attack carried out by the Syrian Electronic Army. In April 2013, the SEA, which reportedly supports the Syrian regime, hacked the Twitter account of the news agency Associated Press AP, where they posted a bogus message: “Breaking news: Two explosions at the White House and Obama is hurt”.

    Some other actions of the Syrian hacktivist group include an attack on Reuters this past June, in which people who tried to view Reuters stories about Syria on a variety of news sites were diverted to a webpage that read: “Hacked by Syrian Electronic Army.”
