Peter Roebuck commits suicide in Cape Town hotel

Former Somerset cricketer and Sydney Morning Herald commentator Peter Roebuck killed himself on Saturday in a hotel in Newlands, Cape Town.

According to South African police, 55-year-old Roebuck jumped to death from his appartment on the 6th floor of the Southern Sun Hotel on Saturday night at 21:15.

Some witnesses revealed for Herald that the British citizen appeared to be agitated prior to the tragic incident. He had discussions with police who removed his private stuff from his hotel room. An investigation was opened into the death case.
