Over the past year Mr. Darie had been hospitalized several times with serious medical problems.
Iurie Darie was born on March 14, 1929, in Vadul Rascov, Soroca County. Since early age he joined the art world. He was admitted to both the Institute of Fine Arts and Academy of Theatre and Film, however he chose the last one which he graduated in 1952. Mr. Darie was taught and educated by some of the greatest Romanian actors and teachers, such as Mihai Popescu and Marietta Sadova.
The actor was admitted several times to “Bagdasar-Arsenie” hospital of Bucharest where he was intubated a couple of times because of not being able to breathe on his own. He was briefly disconnected from life-supporting equipment on June 18 between 16-22. Iurie Darius died after fighting his illness for a very long period.

According to Mediafax, Darie was taken by ambulance to Bucharest’s Emergency University Hospital (SUUB) last month when he accused chest pain and breathing issues. The doctors said that he had suffered a postoperative complication by accumulating fluid into his brain.
“It’s a terrible news. We now need to turn our attention to Iurie Darie’s wife” said Marius Marinescu, a close friend of the actor.
