
Google brings homage to Keith Haring by placing a special doodle on the search page
Google created a special doodle to celebrate graffiti artist Keith Haring today, May 4, 2012 which is his 54th birthday anniversary. Keith Haring, whose memory was honored also by Madonna through a charity concert, approached the graffiti style being inspired by the dynamic life on the streets of New York

Google logo uses the same graffiti style to pay tribute to that who was a relevant figure to NYC street culture.
Keith Haring was born on 4 mei 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania. He spend his childhood in Kutztown where he was raised by his parents mother Joan Haring and father Allen Haring, a cartoonist. Keith Haring had three younger sisters: Kay, Karen and Kristen. Keith’s parents wished to have the names of all their children necessarily begin with the letter “K”. Keith loved art since he was a small boy. He attended classes of commercial art at Pittsburgh’s Ivy School of Professional Art, between 1976 and 1978. However, Keith lost quickly interest for commercial art and relocated to New York to study Fine Arts.
Keith Haring, a passion for graffiti
In 1978, Haring was 19. After arriving in New York, he became inspired by graffiti. He painted the world through energetic pictures, vibrant colors that are now appreciated by millions of people worldwide.
Meanwhile Keith became interested in thick contours characteristic to graffiti art, making such artworks in the American tubes/metro and befriending the so-called “child” of this art: Jean-Michel Basquiat. Furthermore Haring is known as the artist who seduced Madonna with his art creations.
Keith Haring had several exhibitions. His bold lines and bright colors carried a strong message of life and unity. Since 1980, he organized art displays in Club 57. He took part at the Times Square exhibition and then sketched his first chalk drawings on black paper and painted all kinds of plastic and metallic objects.
Keith Haring passed away on 16 februari 1990 in New York.
