Photos: Adolf Hitler bunker – Premiere images

Life magazine exclusively published the first ever images of Adolf Hitler’s bunker.

Vandivert became the first photographer to be granted permission to Hitler’s Führerbunker (“shelter for the leader”) after the fall of Berlin, and a bunch of his photos of the bunker and the ruined city were revealed by LIFE in July, 1945.  Some of those images are re-published by Life nowadays; most of the photographs in the gallery have never been published before. The picture below shows Hitler’s command centre in the bunker, partially destoyed by retreating German army and robbed of valuables by the Russians.
