Tribute song 27 for Amy Whinehouse posted by MIA on Twitter

A few hours after Amy Whinehouse was found dead at her home in London, M.I.A posted on Twitter the message “R.I.P.A.M.Y” which provides a link to a song-tribute brought to the late musician.

The controversial artist named the song “27”, as referring to the “Club 27” comprising the group of artists who died at the age of 27. Besides Amy, this group includes Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison or Jimi Hendrix. On the dedicated track, M.I.A sings: “All rock stars go to heaven, you said you’ll be dead at 27…I took you to the clinic to get you clean but you couldn’t…Said in 2 days ur 27 an ur destiny was comin’.”
