A light private aircraft plunged into the English Channel today in the afternoon at about 3:50 p.m. GMT. The plane with 2 people onboard took off from Lee-on-Solent and was bound to Alderney.

It crashed into the see about 40 kilometers north-west of Guernsey. One of the passengers – a woman – was found by a Russian cargo vessel and was transported to a French hospital in Cherbourg. Now the rescuers are looking for the second person who is still missing.
