BMW presented the first images and information about the 6 Series Gran Coupe, the third model in the family 6 Series after Coupe and Convertible (scroll down for videos and photos).

The car has four doors with frameless windows, and the engines are known from the other 6 Series models. BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will be launched in 2012 and will compete with counterparts such as Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7 Sportback

The new sporting sedan from BMW features 5007 mm length and a wheelbase of 2968 mm. The boot has a capacity of 460 liters (1265 liters with rear seats folded). All engines available on this model (640i, 650i and 640d) may be coupled to a standard 8-speed automatic sports transmission and the top engine 650i, will be available also with four-wheel drive (xDrive).

Then standard equipment of the car includes electromechanical power steering and electronically adjustable suspension, 8-speed automatic sports transmission, green driving mode (PRO ECO) (on all engine variants), doors, hood made of aluminum, thermoplastic front wings, light alloy 18-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, xenon headlights, cruise control with brake function, heated mirrors featuring electric folding and dimming (including central mirror inside), Dakota leather upholstery, heated and electrically adjustable front seats with memory, 2-zone air conditioning, electrically adjustable steering wheel, CD radio Professional and USB input.

The list of equipment is completed with parking sensor system, traffic sign recognition, imminent crash warning and automatic brake. The optional list reveals Bang & Olufsen audio system, active ventilated seats.
