The 6-magnitude quake that rocked northeastern Italy early on Sunday caused significant “damage to cultural heritage,” said in a statement the Italian Ministry for goods and cultural activities. This was the worst tremor to strike the country in the region of Bologna and other surrounding areas.

The Italian quake resulted in at least six dead and 50 wounded in the Ferrara region.

The shockwave affected several localities in the province of Mantova : Moglia – where City Hall and several homes were evacuated because of the risk of collapse – Sermide, Felon, San Giacomo delle Segnate, San Giovanni del Dosso, Poggio Rusco and Quistello.
