The Cessna plane sank off the coast of Masbate island, when trying to execute an emergency landing following an engine trouble, said the regional military spokesman Colonel Generoso Bolina.
“Robredo was on board a light aircraft that travel from Cebu to Naga City. They had an engine problem and requested permission to land in Masbate, but the plane did not make it to the airport and crashed in the ocean,” he added.
