According to RT, those who attacked Aleksandr Panteleymonov, the interim head of the Ukrainian national television, are members of the nationalist party Svoboda who claimed to be (ironically) part of a committee for “freedom of expression”.

The MPs broke into CEO’s office and engaged into a scuffle in efforts to make him write his resignation. They were angry that the company had broadcast the Russian parliament signing a treaty with Crimea. Panteleymonov was accused that under his management the national television aired anti-Ukrainian content and implicitly served Putin and Russia’s interests.

Ukraine’s Prime Minister has condemned the assault calling it unacceptable for a democratic society.

The MP claims to represent the new Freedom and Information committee of Ukraine.”
