A vessel carrying about 250 migrants on board capsized and sank on Friday afternoon in the Mediterranean Sea between Malta and the Italian island of Sicily, informs Corriere della Sera.
“It seems that a boat capsized and sank. We sent rescue ships in the area,” said an official of the Italian Navy.
Rescuers have already found numerous bodies floating across the water surface.
The shipwreck incident took place about 125 kilometers south-east of Malta.
