Utøya Labour Party youth camp shooting follows Oslo bombing

Dozens of people were killed during a terror shooting on the Utoeya island, about 75 km north-west of capital Oslo! Terrifying statement revealed a figure of 69 in island deaths!!!(scroll down for video from Utoeya Labor Party camp)

Bomb blasts struck central Oslo on Friday raising the death toll to 8. Dozens were wounded and rushed to the university hospital. The first explosion rocked the city at 3 p.m GMT and just 10 minutes later a second bomb went off creating a state of chaos and total confusion. However the bomb attacks in the capital were not the only incident. It was reported that shooting took place on the nearby island of Utoeya where a man fired gunshots at Labour Party’s youth camp hours later.

Update1: The first reports came from witness Andre Skeie who told Reuters that he spotted 20 dead at the youth camp. Initially the authorities declined to comment the Utoeya incident but later 10 deaths were confirmed. Nothing is sure at the moment but the police fears as many as 30 individuals were killed.

Update2: Norwegian special counter-terrorism units were deployed on the island. People were seen trying to flee the island with many of them swimming away to safety (see aerial video footage Guardian.uk). The island was entirely overwhelmed by chaos (watch another video BBC). It was reported that the man who opened fire was dressed as a policeman.

Update3: Shooter was arrested. The suspect had been seen in Oslo before the explosions. During a press conference the police revealed that the 32-year-old man connected with the attacks is a Norwegian national.

Update4: Undetonated explosive material was discovered on the island where the the killer gunned down at least 10 people.

Update5: Horrific news (July 23): Norway official announced that the death toll from Utoeya mass shooting raised to 85. Norwegian media have identified the suspect in the  attacks as 32-year-old Anders Behring Breivik. Police said the killer is accused of terrorism charges that are punishable (amazingly just) up to 21 years in jail according to Norwegian law.
