Google Street View maps Japanese Hashima Battleship Island known as one of the most isolated places on Earth

Google Street View allows people to travel on Hashima, a famous abandoned Japanese island that was used in the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, as a hideout of the enemy of the secret agent 007, Raoul Silva.

The island is also known for Gunkanjima (Battleship Island) because when seen in profile, the island looks like a war ship. The island served as a labor camp and its last inhabitant fled the site in 1974, and the former mining center has been left abandoned ever since.

The island was reopened to tourists in 2009, but the authorities have restricted their access to some areas.
