StarChase GPS track device to prevent high speed police pursuits

The high-speed police chases we all see on television are exciting but also extremely dangerous as statistics proved that 360 people die yearly due to such incidents, according to a 2010 analysis released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

However, things are gonna chance soon as StarChase, a Virginia-based law enforcement technology company, is determined to stop such dangerous car chases with help from a tech device reminding us of the James Bond movies.

The device is a deployable GPS tracker that is installed onto the front bumper of a police vehicle. If a suspected criminal drives away, the police officer can fire a tiny sticky GPS tracker that gets embedded to the suspect’s car.

“Law enforcement uses this technology in situations where they have a high-risk vehicle,” said Trevor Fischbach, StarChase’s president. “That could be a stolen car, a car that has narcotics in it, it could be a DUI suspect.”
