This incident was supposed to be a drama but in fact sparked only laughs 🙂 A Chinese Samaritan tried to offer himself as pray for white tigers, but he ended up scaring the animals! (see video report below)
Keepers at the Chengdu Zoo managed to rescue a mentally ill man who leaped into the tigers cage.
27-year-old Yang Jinhai, had posted several messages on the internet about how happy he was to start a new life after finding a job as a security guard in Chengdu, China. But the new job seemed to be dull and boring, so he quit and chose to work in a factory. He resigned also from there, as he wished to get more from his life.
After he visited the local zoo, Jinhai wrote about the “sad life of the noble and magnificent caged tigers” who are living in such an ugly environment without being able to follow their natural instinct of hunting and killing. Then, the Chinese man announced suddenly that he will sacrifice himself for the tigers.

“He headed to the zoo, climbed the cage and jumped in, believing that the ferocious predators will attack and devour him. Instead, the two captive tigers got scared and the female even ran away. The man started luring the tigers, by dancing erratically and grimacing at them. Finally, he was attacked, bitten and scratched by a male which was fortunately tranquilized by the zoo caretakers,” said a witness. After being pulled out of the cage, the guy was given first aid and then rushed to the hospital.
Yang’s family says the man, who has been depressed for a long time, was taken to a medical center where he will receive psychiatric counseling.
