The representatives of the European Union have not forgotten that April 1st is the fools’ day, and played a trick on Russia, claiming that the Mistral warships ordered by Russia from France, were actually assigned to the EU foreign service.
The original story, points out that the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, Federica Mogherini, would have made the announcement.

According to the EU Observer, the first Mistral ship, the “Sevastopol”, would have been re-baptized “Juncker” to honor the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker. The vessel is scheduled to sail to Riga as Latvia holds the EU presidency at this point.
