First driverless electric minibuses WEpods to run on Dutch roads in November 2015

As of November 2015, two self-driving electric vehicles will make the connection between Wageningen University and the city of Ede in the Netherlands, writes BBC.

The fully autonomous minibuses, called WEpods, are set to travel a distance of 5 kilometers and passenger will be able to call for them by using a smartphone mobile application.

They’re designed to carry up to 12 passengers along the route at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.

WEpods will be using the regular roads, but during the first stage of the tests they won’t mix with regular traffic when raining, snowing or at night.
