Instead, the company executives blocked the access to this controversial film in Libya and Egypt, where most violent protests occurred.

Cairo protesters attacked the U.S. Embassy where the American flag was torn down and replaced with an Islamic flag and the riots progressed to harsh violence in the Libyan city of Benghazi, where the U.S. ambassador John Christopher “Chris” Stevens and three other U.S. diplomats were killed.

The wave of anger swept rapidly through other Muslim countries. In Tunisia, police managed to disperse temporarily the demonstrators. In Yemen and Egypt, U.S. embassies are still under the assault of the violent protesters. Police in these countries have resorted to gunfire to crack down on the crowd, in a desperate attempt to bring security around the diplomatic stations.

The 5 million dollar “anti-islam” amateur film, outrageously depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a homosexual and advocate of pedophilia, and these facts come in strong contradiction to Islamic religion which is extremely sensitive to any negative remarks about the Prophet.

YouTube Management told AP that will maintain the environment in which all opinions can be expressed.

“It can be challenging that what is OK in a country represents something offensive in another. This video which is still available on the Internet, complies with our policy of free expression, therefore we will not remove it. Anyway, given the difficult situations that ignited in Libya and Egypt, we temporarily restricted access (to the film) in these two countries. Our souls are with the bereaved families after the events in Benghazi,” reads YouTube official statement.

The film in question was posted on the Internet in early July, by user Sam Bacile who is also a film director. For two months, did not cause any major concern, but after being translated into Arabic a few days ago, and presented by Egyptian television, it triggered the extreme irritation of Muslims.

Director and producer of this film is the Israeli-born American citizen Sam Bacile. Despite the recent tragic events, Bacile still keeps his opinion about Islam in a brief statement: “Islam is a cancer!”
