China: Satellite Images May Show Missing Malaysian Flight MH370

Chinese officials released some images of what may be debris from the Malaysian aircraft Boeing 777 that went missing 5 days ago (scroll down for video).

A satellite snapped photos of the South China Sea on Sunday and the imagery have been made public, CNN reported.

According to Chinese space agency, the satellite looking into the missing Flight 370 “noticed a suspected crash area at sea.”

Three satellite images appear to show large suspected floating objects near the flight path on the right side.

Investigators believe the objects may be debris from the Malaysian Flight MH370, the dimension of the largest object being either 79 feet by 72 feet or 24 meter long. Three objects are seemingly large with sizes like 13×18, 14×19 and 24×22 (meters).

The geographical coordinates of the floating “rubbish” are 6.7 (or 6°42′) north latitude and 105.63 (105°37′) east longitude. They correspond to South China Sea waters along the flight route northeast of Malaysian shore and south of Vietnam’s coast.

The images were taken on Mar. 9, 2014, the next day after the airplane vanished, but weren’t released before Wednesday.
