Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed intention to donate his entire fortune to charity, thus joining other billionaires like Warren Buffett, who advocates for the disposal of at least half of their wealth, according to Fortune magazine.

Cook said he wants to donate his fortune, estimated at 785 million dollars, after paying for education of his nephew, currently aged 10.

Cook’s fortune is estimated at about 120 million dollars in Apple shares but the boss of the Cupertino-based tech giant owns additional Apple restricted shares worth 665 million dollars.

The revelation made by Cook, aged 54, is an example of the increasing number of super-rich individuals interested in philanthropy.

Billionaire Warren Buffett encourages many billionaires to give up at least half of their fortunes, during their life time, through the campaign called “Giving Pledge”, whose site features prominent names including Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Oracle’s boss Larry Ellison.
