Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta resigns over “Colectiv” nightclub deadly fire
Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta vows to hand over his resignation, just less than 24 hours after reportedly 20,000 to 32,000 people rampaged through the streets of Bucharest to protest against a nightclub incident that killed 32 people so far, but the death toll is expected to rise.

Demonstrators asked for Mr. Ponta to quit his attributions, complaining of overwhelming government corruption and poor safety regulations. The main slogan chanted by the protesters Tuesday night was “Corruption Kills!”
Victor Ponta is known to have been already facing trial on corruption accusations. He turned out to be the first sitting Romanian premier indicted officially for corruption on allegations of fraud, tax evasion and money laundering dating back a couple of years.
