Sir George Martin, an music producer known as the fifth “Beatle” (the Beatles) died at the age of 90. Throughout his 50-year-long rich career, Sir George Martin, produced over 700 albums and was the one who signed the first contract with The Beatles, according to BBC News.

Sir George Martin has worked with other famed artists such as Gerry and the Pacemakers, Shiley Bassey and Cilla Black.
The announcement of his death was made on Twitter by The Beatles’ drummer.

“God bless George Martin. Peace and love to Judy and his family. With love, Ringo and Barbara. George will be missed,” wrote Ringo Starr on microblogging social website Twitter.
