Latvia to build anti-migration fence at border with Russia

A 23-kilometer long fence has been erected at the border between Latvia and Russia. Authorities in Riga say they will to everything to defend their country against the illegal immigrants.

According to the project, the fence will stretch over a distance of 193 kilometers of the 276 km long border with Russia.

While a significant stretch of Latvia’s border with Russia is believed to be well-protected with natural landmarks, including swamps and rivers, some 193 kilometers are deemed “vulnerable”, writes Russia Today.
