Murray performed probably one of the most brilliant match of his career as he defeated Federer (that did not happen too often) in three straight sets: 6-2, 6-1, 6-4. Obviously it was a moment of revenge and joy for the British player regarding the fact that Federer sank him in frustration during Wimbledon’s finals.

Shortly after the match started, Murray broke Federer’s serve to take advantage and secure the first set 6-2.

Probably everyone expected a retaliation from Federer in the second set but the situation was exactly the other way around as Murray claimed it 6-1.

To mention that the third game of the second set was extremely disputed as it proved to be a turning point in the evolution of the confrontation. Murray was leading 2-0 and he managed to make it for 3-0 after Federer had countless breakpoints.
